COMMUNITY POLICY AND MANAGEMENT TEAM (CPMT)
PURPOSE:
Suffolk Community Policy and Management Team, also known as the "Suffolk Interagency Team", acts as the community policy and management team for the City in cooperative effort to serve the needs of troubled and at-risk youth and their families, and to maximize the use of state and community resources in that effort.

EASTERN VIRGINIA HEALTH SYSTEMS AGENCY
PURPOSE:
Under State law, the Commonwealth of Virginia is divided into five health planning areas, each of which is served by a small regional health planning agency. The primary mission of each of those agencies is to review Certificate of Public Need requests for new services, facilities and equipment that are submitted to the state's Commissioner of Health. This agency advises the Commissioner as to whether he should approve or deny a particular application.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF SUFFOLK
PURPOSE:
To manage Wilroy Industrial Park and to promote the development of other industrial sites, both public and private.

EASTERN VIRGINIA MEDICAL SCHOOL BOARD OF VISITORS
PURPOSE:
To improve health care in the region through medical education, patient care and research.

SOUTHEASTERN PUBLIC SERVICE AUTHORITY (SPSA)
PURPOSE:
To coordinate the regional trash system for eight cities and two counties.

SOUTHEASTERN TIDEWATER OPPORTUNITY PROJECT (STOP)
PURPOSE:
Non-profit organization, created in 1965 to provide self-help human services to economically disadvantaged residents of the South Hampton Roads area. STOP provides multiple services in this arena to include Headstart, Indoor Plumbing and Rehab Program, Weatherization Program and Nurses Aid Training Program, to name a few.

SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA AREAWIDE MODEL PROGRAM, INC.
PURPOSE:
To develop programming and alcohol service delivery mechanisms that will serve to substantially reduce the number of highway accidents resulting from the consumption of alcohol. Serves the courts of Portsmouth, Suffolk, Chesapeake, Franklin, Smithfield, Isle of Wight and Southampton.
